About Wind Ensemble
The Wind Ensemble is our advanced performing group. It is open normally to 7th and 8th graders that have completed at least one year of band. Performance participation is required in order to be a member of this groups. During the course of the year, students may participate in the following types of performances: pep rallies, football games, district and region band auditions, formal evening concerts, U.I.L. band evaluation, a music festival, and solo and ensemble performances. Directors will consider the following for student placement in this ensemble: technical skill on the instrument, academic records (passing of classes), practice logs, behavior/attitude in band, effort, playing audition, group instrumentation, and class enrollment/size.
